History of Cars and Coffee Morrisville

  • December 2015- We had our first Cars and Coffee Morrisville event. It was at the Morrisville Outlet Mall on Airport Blvd. We stayed at that location until a developer bought the property and our last event there was around December 2018.
  • January 2019-May 2019- We were in two temporary locations that were Creekstone Shopping Center on Miami Blvd and the old Sam’s Club on Shiloh Glenn Drive.
  • June 2019- Moved the event to the Imperial Center in Durham.  This is the areas largest and premier office part. Right off I-40, it is an ideal location.  We decided to start having Durham Police work our event. To pay for this expense we started having sponsors at our events and pay a yearly sponsor fee.
  • April 2020- Imperial Center teamed us up with MOBLZ to help with Food Trucks.
  • Summer of 2020- MOBLZ started having charities and other causes be a part of our event.
  • January 2022- We added car themes to each event.
  • July 2022- We became Cars and Coffee Morrisville, Inc. as a 501(c)(4)  Non Profit
  • February 2023- We added the Durham Police Department and the Durham Fire Department as sponsors of our event.

The History of Cars and Coffee

If you're a car enthusiast, then you know about the phenomenon known as "Cars and Coffee." This is a monthly event that brings together car owners and fans to show off their cars and chat with others about their love of automobiles. But where did this tradition start? And who was responsible for making it so popular? In this blog post, we'll take a look at the history of Cars and Coffee and find out how it became such a beloved pastime.

The origins of Cars and Coffee date back to the early 2000s, when Barry Meguiar, the founder of car care company Meguiar's, began hosting informal gatherings for fellow auto enthusiasts at his home in Southern California. Over time, these events became more popular among car collectors, who would gather to show off their vintage cars, talk shop with fellow enthusiasts, and share a cup of coffee.
